Akiyoshidai in Japan holds the memory of 350 million years of history; its soil, rocks and vegetation bear witness to the continuity of life in this place. Frank Tang undertook a residency at the Akiyoshidai International Art Village in Japan in early 2025, during which he frequently visited Akiyoshidai to meditate or entered the Akiyoshido Cave to sketch, documenting this land. Frank extended his research theme of ‘monuments’ into the realm of ‘natural monuments’, attempting to recreate the landscapes and sensations of that time. He created the data-driven mechanical installation “Akiyoshidai Daydreaming” by displaying a 12-square-metre image within the CRASH space—which measures less than 28 square metres—and transports the audience to Akiyoshidai.
日本秋吉台擁有三億五千萬年歷史的土地記憶，它的泥土、岩石與植物都見證了此地生命的延續。鄧啓耀於2025年初在日本秋吉台國際藝術村進行駐留，期間常到秋吉台靜坐，或進入秋芳洞寫生，紀錄這片土地。鄧氏將創作其研究主題「紀念碑」延伸至「大自然紀念物」的領域，試圖重現當時的風景和感受，創作了數據驅動機械裝置作品《白日夢到秋吉台》。在 CRASH 這個不足 28 平方米的空間展示一幅 12 平方米的圖像，讓觀眾彷彿置身秋吉台。
