Exhibition Period: 20-27 SEP 2026 | 3-8PM

A piece of jewellery is worth stealing, then why isn’t a hole? Who does a hole belong to? How can one steal a hole?

... The precondition for stealing a hole is the existence of it.

... Holes could appear in many cases. The crumb cavities inside a loaf of bread, being swollen by yeast. If you take the whole loaf without slicing it, you end up with countless holes hidden inside. Remaining, and no one can ever extract them.

... Hong Kong, a concrete jungle, where day and night entwine. Here, when a homicide occurs and a body must be disposed of, sealing it in concrete is a common method. Yet concrete cannot withstand weight. It turns the corpse into a block, occupying some corner of a corridor. Nor can concrete withstand smell. Seemingly airtight, it is in fact like a loaf of bread, riddled with fine internal pores that transmit odours from within. If you lean in close and listen, there are faint, fragmented sounds, or perhaps some mold, all emerging and sprouting from the hole, connecting to the world(s) beyond.
